How to check your IP Address, and what is it?

According to Wikipedia IP address is a numerical identification (logical address) that is assigned to devices participating in a computer network utilizing the Internet Protocol for communication between its nodes. Sometimes knowing your IP Address is vital.

The question is “How to check your IP Address?”.

Here’s how:

1. There are a lot of ways to check your IP Address, but i will only tackle the basic on how to do it.
2. Supposed  you are in your Windows GUI or you are logged on to it.
3. Click on Start, click on Run and type CMD (stands for Command Prompt or a Command Shell) and then Enter key.
4. You will be prompted to a command prompt or usually you see a drive letter e.g. C:\>.
5. Type the following command to check your IP Address. Type IPCONFIG and then press Entey Key.
6. For more detailed information you can also Type IPCONFIG /ALL with parameters.

That’s it. You may now be able to see or check your own IP Address.
